MANGO RING with MANGO CUSTARD

Had to make an emergency dessert for someone's birthday. Went through all my recipes and wanted to do something different. So decided to use a sponge roll recipe and make a mango ring.

I put the ring into a round tin lined with cling film. Made the custard and poured it all over and let it set in the fridge. Turned it onto a plate. It was delicious. Unfortunately I don't have a pix of the final result. But its worth trying.

I wanted to surprise a young relative with a cricket set cake. So I made him a cricket bat, ball, leg pads, hat, jersey and the works. Since he likes Sachin, I used a picture as a score board. The result..see.... I used a moist vanilla cake recipe which I found online. After reading the reviews, I decided that it was the right cake to prepare. But I was disappointed when I tasted the final result. The cake was tasty but not at all moist. Will never try that recipe again.

BANANA CAKE DOUGHNUTS

I wanted to make doughnuts for ages now. I never did find a recipe to my liking and then I can across this wonderful recipe for old fashioned cake doughnuts by karalalala. It's simple, easy, quick, uncomplicated and delicious. I added mashed ripe banana to the recipe and made banana doughnuts.
