Must visit websites

Image
I posted a question on yahoo about cake supplies and received two answers. The two sites mentioned have awesome products but are in the US. Check out: www.chefrubber.com www.globalsugarart.com I can guarantee that you will go wild. If anyone comes across such a site with excellent products in India, please feel free to post. I must make a note that I managed to load my website content with the help of WordPress.org. This is an Apple Pie I had made. The filling is really nice and with the crust, it tastes delicious.

Website

Finally I have managed to get my site content uploaded. Tough not exactly the way I wanted to but since I had purchased the hosting I need to show some content. I'm in the process of refining it. If any of you have suggestions, do let me know. You can browse through www.cakeliciousgoa.com

Website and Contributors

Hi. I'm in the process of creating my website. It's taking me a little longer than what I would have imagined as I'm no longer in touch with my web designing skills. But I have found this awesome help from BlueVoda. I'm also looking out for contributors to my site. You might have tried out a new recipe or know someone who sells cake decorating tools and allied products. Let me know. There are so many of us who find it difficult to find just about what we need...say a small piping bag or a different piping tip or colourful muffin wrappers or shaped trays and more.

I have also tried my hand at desserts. From Fudge brownies to Strudels and Souffles and Trifle and much more... This is an Apple Nut Strudel . And it tastes gooooooood. This is a favourite among all. A Caramel Pudding . I have a lot of images to add. Please keep browsing and add your valued comments.

Blog readers, please excuze the background of the below image.... This was a cake for my mum's birthday. I tried fondant for the very first time for the corners and handles and unfortunately with the heat we have in Goa, by the time we reached mum's home it melted...boohooo... It was a layered cake and I used 3 different creams. It was tasty. For my neighbour's 9th Birthday I came up with a different idea. I made a Chocolate Chiffon Cake . I used chocolate and fresh cream to make the glaze. I am yet to perfect the art of Immaculate icing. Here in Goa, it is difficult to find piping tips of your choice and you have to make do with whatever is available unless someone gets it for you from abroad. This was made for a 7 year old who's Spiderman crazy....He loves mangoes too. So I made him a Mango Chiffon Cake .

These are more pictures of cakes I had prepared. I had prepared this Sunflower cake for Vrianna's Ist birthday. It was my very first shape cake. With absolutely no idea about how to do and what to do, I finally came up with this nice looking cake. For my 30th birthday cake, I did a 4 tier cake with different layers. The bottom tier consisted of a Walnut Torte and a Red Velvet Cake . The 2nd tier was a Pineapple Chiffon Cake . The 3rd tier, a Mango Cake and finally the 4th tier a Flourless Almond Cake . The topmost tier cake wasn't upto the mark. I wasn't happy with it at all.

Yesterday was my birthday. I couldn’t think up of a cake to funk me up. So I decided to try new flavours. I started with a Coconut Supreme Cake and ended making a Pistachio Cake too. I layered the two with whipping cream and fresh coconut and the combination was really great. For someone who wants to try new flavours and be an instant hit, this is ‘the combo’. This is what the cake looks like when cut. A dark green contrast. Together a really yummy flavour.

This is my very first thread in the community. I have ventured into Cakes and Desserts. Very Amateurish! But everything is made with love. Have a look and do tell. This is a Mississippi Mud Cake. Very soft, moist and chocolately.
