Yesterday was my birthday. I couldn’t think up of a cake to funk me up. So I decided to try new flavours. I started with a Coconut Supreme Cake and ended making a Pistachio Cake too. I layered the two with whipping cream and fresh coconut and the combination was really great. For someone who wants to try new flavours and be an instant hit, this is ‘the combo’.
This is what the cake looks like when cut. A dark green contrast. Together a really yummy flavour.

RED VELVET CAKE with MASCARPONE FILLING and YUMM FROSTING
I love to experiment with cake recipes. I will never follow a recipe to the 't'. I made a red velvet cake. I had never used cream cheese for a filling and I always wanted to use it. And as the cake gurus go, there's nothing more complete than a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting....yummmmmmmm. I was wondering what to frost over the cake and one of the recipes that I had tried earlier was a soft and delicious and melt-in-your-mouth icings. And you can imagine the outcome.....
CRICKET SET CAKE
I wanted to surprise a young relative with a cricket set cake. So I made him a cricket bat, ball, leg pads, hat, jersey and the works. Since he likes Sachin, I used a picture as a score board. The result..see.... I used a moist vanilla cake recipe which I found online. After reading the reviews, I decided that it was the right cake to prepare. But I was disappointed when I tasted the final result. The cake was tasty but not at all moist. Will never try that recipe again.
